• What’s involved:

I. Officer(s) carrying out streetwalks and collating information on 4 wards within the borough, identifying possible 1 and 2 storey HMO’s, including those known as section 257 HMO’s. To include noting those that are causing environmental problems, are in serious disrepair or are poorly managed.

II. The information obtained through the above to be recorded on a database.

III. Daily updates concerning the progress with the survey to be provided to the Housing Standards Section Manager or, in his absence, to the Senior HMO Officer.

IV. Upon completion of the streetwalk survey, checks to be made with other relevant internal Departments to confirm their knowledge of the use of the properties identified and any action that they have taken regarding them.

V. At the end of the above, a full and detailed report to be provided to the Head of Service of the findings and conclusions.
